  • The choice of a preferred future

Today we are surrounded by a postmodern world – often defined as the new period of significant change in western society - the reality is no longer determined or fixed. By Seyran Khalili Everything is relative to one's viewpoint or stance. One of the main characteristics is that the world is seen as a much more complex and uncertain place. In turn, this has given rise to changes in many aspects of society – solid truths have no longer value. In these terms - individualism has been lifted as the "social norm" where the "I" always comes first. The blasted need for self-exploration has today become an ongoing lonely quest. A kind of modern "pilgrim" journey if I may say. One must "find" oneself as if one is lost somewhere between heaven and earth – or in modern terms: somewhere between what I can become and what I am. Your life is already chosen Think of it. You were born to this earth. You are already chosen. One of the reasons is that we live in a time where we value free will and liberty - more importantly, fighting and struggling for it. Becoming who we want – when we want – where we want – to make it simple, whatever we wish to. This freedom both gives you a boundless universe of choices, but I'm sorry to say – reality doesn't. Even though we are only blessed with one life (by the powers of the universe invested), it seems as we are negotiating with our fate to be given a dozen. Faced to make significant choices in our lives, we are more likely to face big identity problems. Thorn between what we want, what we dream for - the big question; "what is my place in this world?" doesn't make it any simpler. Many go through seven seas and still can't find their place. Have we become products of the postmodern world, or are we the creators? When did self-exploration become a destiny and not a path to clear thought? Whatever difference your choice in life might have made, the only answer one should ask is this; have you chosen a course that leads to a destination that matters most to you? Different paths may be equally essential but taking one that is "travelled less by" can enable you to become a pioneer in your life. Why Humans Seek a Preferred Future To find out what one is fitted to do and to secure the opportunity to do it is the key to happiness. Nothing is more tragic than failure to discover one's true business in life, or to find that one has drifted or been forced by circumstance into an uncongenial calling. A right occupation means simply that the aptitudes of a person are in adequate play, working with the minimum of friction and the maximum of satisfaction. - Dewey, Democracy and education 1938 [1916], p. 360) Why search for a different path if our lives ahead are already transparent? There is a simple bias in this way of thinking about the future. At the centre of all lies not a quest for a preferred future but seeking meaning in life. There is a price to pay for all this capability for reflection. It is yet both a blessing and a curse, one that is at times inescapable to become stuck in. With each review over the "what if" comes a need for a justification. There is a need for an answer to the question of "why". People from all ranges of work often discuss a somewhat dissatisfaction in their work area. These could be jobs ranging from pre-school teachers to PhD-doctoral fellowships, to the techie in the consultant firm and the start-up founder… you see the bright gloomy picture? Be whatever the work fields, the experience is all but the same. Did-I-take-the-right-decision? What-if? Is it perhaps a question of the eastern versus western culture mindset? Although we may find some presence of meaning in life, we are a work in progress as human beings. This is the joy of being a human – to fundamentally know that there is always room for improvement. This is also the fundamental belief in the psychology of humanity that we can evolve, be better, do better, change, grow and learn. The confidence that people can change and entrusting that process. So how can we then establish this safe space for welcoming change? The question of representation: A shift from seeking opportunities to creating them Looking back at the path that's led me to where I am as a writer, I often considering myself not yet having written my best. "I'm not quite there yet," says the little pushover on my left shoulder. I'll give it another shot. 'Achievement motivation' is a syllabus subject in the finishing course I once took whilst I was writing my masters dissertation in organizational psychology. The topic recently lapsed into my mind again like a big bubble of gum getting stuck into my every being. In a broad sense, it's defined as an individual's need to meet realistic goals, receive feedback, and experience a sense of accomplishment. I've always had this attitude that if I put my mind to something, I can master it. I wish to become one with the object. Sometimes not knowing which comes first, me or the 'je ne sais quoi' result that's about to go out of my effort. I may have finally understood what Rène Magritte meant when emphasizing that words and images must be freed from 'the obsessional urge to give meaning to things to use them or dominate them'. Magritte was influenced by the surrealist movement emerging from Paris and believed that our language does not act as a picture of facts but is instead a reflection of games. "This is not a pipe," says the picture above, reflecting on the notion that what you see doesn't have to be what you claim it to be. In this sense, the knowledge of words is not equal to the use of words. We usually attribute resemblance to things that may or may not have a common nature. We say, 'as alike as two peas in a pod', and thus we say, just as quickly, that the fake resembles the authentic. This so-called resemblance consists of relations of comparison, whose similarities are perceived by the mind when it examines, evaluates, and composes. The likeness is not concerned with 'common sense' or defying it, but "only with spontaneously assembling shapes from the world of appearance in an order given by inspiration" – René Magritte. Throughout my time developing my writing, I can only say that I've become more interested in the actual art of writing. Writing lets me fall into the transition of being in a state of "flow" and in a psychologically safe space. As Elizabeth Gilbert puts it, this is when my "elusive creative genius" dares to come out. I write not as Seyran Khalili, the person, but as Seyran Khalili, the writer. Because it is a craft - and by creating this psychological distance, it nurtures and protects the art. It comes out in an entirely different shape, and form than our cognitive mind first thought of because our elusive thoughts shape and form it. Bold enough to cut through the shyness of the world. Daring to unfold, it's mysterious. Your Questioning Of Choices Makes You Modern A decade ago, Virginia Woolf wrote, "A woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction". This she wrote as she was at the peak of her modernistic era surrounded by the avant-garde notion of innovative and experimental writers. Today that quote struck my mind as I am now writing about the choice of preferred future. The mere joy that's been hitting me for the past month has been how privileged I am to have this choice. Although we like a certain envisioned future, whether this is a realistic possibility right now, we must move away from the obstacles ahead and turn these into opportunities. This is precisely what Virginia Woolf did, way ahead of her time. Throughout the different theories, one learns to see that nothing is ever fully explained. There's always another way to see the ordinary things in life, claim them, and conceptualize them. When future choices are aligned "I am tomorrow, or some future day, what I establish today. I am today what I established yesterday or some previous day" – James Joyce So, what does Woolf really mean about a room of her own? It could first be a fictional, virtual room where one has a place to write, to ponder about life immense totality about all or nothing. However, it could also be an indication of a more elegant room of solitude. A room for change. A place in mind where one is free to think differently and have space enough for new reflective thoughts to enter amid everything else one is surrounded by daily. But also – a room in society to welcome something different. People can chase many paths towards different destinies far off in the future, but behind pursuing each course lies ahead obstacles. With this choice comes responsibility and goals that need to be aligned with our basic need for well-being and meaningfulness. When the plans are not aligned with our inner needs and dreams we wish to pursue, there is a void left in our souls. Not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday waking up, this void of ours has now increased to an ill-being. Choose your preferred future wisely – those futures that are aligned with your stars. Aligned with your basic needs of autonomy, where you blossom, flourish, and where your well-being is put first. Even if you do achieve a set of certain goals you put for yourself, if these are not aligned with your basic needs, it can in turn, make you feel worse – even when you reach them. Well, it’s simple by manifesting and visualising the ‘future-you’. Magritte was fascinated by the seductiveness of images. Ordinarily, you see a picture of something, and you believe in it, you are seduced by it; you take its honesty for granted”. Magritte knew that representations of things could lie. The images aren’t men; it’s only pictures of them. It makes us aware of the falsity of representation and aware of the power of manifestations and visualisation. This won’t work unless you do. The things we want most - health, happiness, wealth, love - are governed by our ability to think, feel and act. By caring for our core needs and nourishing our truth, we can start over and re-write our preferred future. Now it’s time to become the master of your destiny, by each letter written on a blank canvas letting you one step closer to where you want to be - and who you want to be. An empty pot makes the loudest noise. Let me reiterate about nothingness without end. Nothing can mean so much more. By referring to the never-ending infinite and incomprehensible depth of our existence, an existence we as humans cannot even being to comprehend except through study, deep meditation, and focus. Therefore, the term “nothing” is widely used as a meditation concept, a focal point to help direct thoughts. • There is no future in the past

Strange headline, isn’t it? There must be a connection from the past into the future. But that is not the same as saying that the past set the rules for the outcome of the future. The future, our more preferably futures, is decided in the present moment. Sometimes based on insights and learnings from the past, transformed into possible outcomes or directions in the future. This article is about the importance of having your focus on the present moment. The importance of the connection with your inner I instead of all the roles you play in your daily life. Do you really know yourself? I mean deeply. Know what you stand for? Know what you really care about? Know your driving forces? Or know the things that you value most? I thought I did and for a long time I followed a path that slowly diminished my inner energy. I based many of my actions on reactions of things happened in the far, or near, past. I thought I based my decisions on well founded facts. Decisions about my way forward in life, career and social life. Always trying to make things better, more interesting and earning more money. Always having multiple options for different futures going on in my mind all the time. A never ending activity, always looking for something better. At the same time considering ”important” things that have happened to me in the past. Considering and thinking about things I made, asking questions like ”what if I had done it that way instead of what I did”, or ”why didn’t I do like this”. My mind occupied with a lot of things about the past pointing towards another possible future or outcome. Suddenly I came to realize that I spent a lot of time, in my case in head, without connection to my inner I. Always seeking to find answers of what I could do differently to have a better future. On a business trip I started to feel uncomfortable inside my body. Had some pain in my stomach but did not consider it as anything important. Later on that night I woke up with a strange feeling in my body. Something inside me said that this is serious and you need to act now. For once I listened to my body, or more correctly, to my inner I, and asked the night porter to call for an ambulance. If I had followed my previous modus of operandi I would not be writing this article at all. After my convalescence I started to evaluate my life. Trying to get to know my self in a much better way and trying to put my focus on being present in the present moment. Letting go of my pattern of digging into the past as a way to a new and better future. In the beginning this was a real challenge. But along the way I tried to focus on the things happening right now as much as I could. The more I practiced the more I started to experience things around and within me. I started to hear bird songs, different smells in nature and the beauty of nature itself. I started to hear what people said to me, instead of my predetermined story of what they where saying. Started to se people for who they are, not their role they are playing. Started to feel a balance within me, a beginning sense of calmness deep inside. Gradually I learnt to handle the past in a more fruitful way. A way that kept my self in control over the feelings from past events. Learnt to pick out the real important things from the past that could be useful in my present life. All the rest accepted and left as they are.Things in the past that should not be allowed to have any further impact. My behaviour of the tendency to spend much time in my head and in the future has also been trained and transformed into a slightly different pattern. I still think a lot of possible futures, but from a completely new angle, or position. Now it is based on what I consider as my development goal of my real I. A goal in harmony with my self, my family and my surroundings. A goal of inspiration instead of a goal ”if I only achieve or get this or that” my life would be much better. Putting my focus on being in the present moment has helped me to gain balance within. Helped me to see unnecessary patterns in my life. Patterns that I gradually have left behind me, but still finding new ones that need to be abandoned. It also have helped me to get to know my self in a much better way. Actually helped me to find who I really am. A fabulous thing. During the process, a still ongoing one, and a lifelong, I was afraid that I would lose the meaning of looking forward, towards the future. But this has turned out to be completely wrong. I can, and I do, still think and plan for the future, but from a new perspective. I can do it without the purpose of the thoughts that everything will be better in the future. The joy of life will happen in the future has been removed from my thought pattern. Life happens right now, in the present moment. It is here where you find joy in your life. Here and now, not in the future or in the past. Another insight has become clear to me and that is by putting my focus on here and now I actually becomes conscious about my self, my thoughts, my beliefs. Becoming conscious and connected with my inner I. For me being here and now equals with consciousness of and connection with my inner I. Be conscious Ulf

  • MYTHS - THE KEYS TO FUTURES?

On the earthly surface of a blue water planet, Man travels alone in a dark cosmos. Where does Man come from and where is he going? What is self and what is consciousness of Man? The questions are many, difficult to find answers to and at the same time necessary to be spoken out. Travelling with thought FUTURES OF MAN, our platform and the publisher of articles on the futures of humans and humanity aims to "travel where few dare”, to seek out notions of possible paths to follow. Futures of Mans way of traveling is with thoughts. If quantum physics' notions of entanglement are correct, then thought travels faster than light. If this is true, the thoughts of our articles and captions will reach the affected readers even at the far end of the Universe, simultaneously. At the beginning of the theories of the metaphysical universe, which began with Albert Einstein, his thesis was "the consciousness that has created a problem does not solve the problem". Whether humanity has problems or not is both a political and a scientific question. I'm not trying to answer that question, I'm trying to think what if I give my own evolution a push forward? Can I reach further at a greater speed in a more meritorious way if I try to construct new self-insight and expanded consciousness for myself? Do I have access to an insight and a language that will do this future positioning possible to me? Philosophy of the possible futures for humanity Knowing the back-drop philosophy hidden in the myths, give you access to a deeper understanding of the work of Futures of Man. In a series of texts in our magazine, my colleagues and I seek to form a story that is understandable - a story of how Man stepped out of nature and established himself in his own being. A discovery guided by evolution, whose purpose is the development of the sensing and conscious universe. Technological development, a side of human evolution, offers humans a challenge in the form of superior artificial intelligence, freed from emotion and rational in its being. Will humans survive as independent individuals with an accelerating artificial intelligence that challenges? If so, what's the matter? Where is Man's place in the creation of the future? Let's see if the answers exists. The pre-historical Man was one with nature. Man shared the being with nature and was a co-creator of nature as power and myth. Man did not have insight into himself as an individual and conscious being, but was prisoned in a context with nature he could not explain. Human history should not continue this way. With the millennia, evolution lifted Man out of the totem community with the tribe and into a beginning self-based on the individual as the subject. Slowly Man rose out of the clan and became his own construction and conscious in his own mental notions and choices. Even the magnificent Roman culture saw itself as a clan community where the individual did not exist. The price Man had to pay to leave the fellowship with nature, The Great Mother, cultivated as the female deity, the incarnation of the very life force as the prerequisite for the maintenance of life, became a journey in solitude into a dark and cold cosmos, abandoned and jailed in an infinity of emptiness. Where is the path back to The Great Mother and why is the journey required? I try to find the journey first, then I will take care of the answers. When Man left Nature Man moves out of nature, a necessary action to establish himself as an individual construction of the self and for the establishment of an analytical consciousness. The journey towards modernity begins with the fragmentation of nature as a deity, separated from Man. The deity becomes immortal, but nature and Man remain mortal. The oneness of the divine was transformed in the form of sub-deities; some humans took their place with the gods, such as pharaohs. Such a view develops a new understanding of death as the eternal rebirth to which the Universe is also subject. Death becomes an illusion, a rest, a cycle of nature. The Great Mother is no longer a myth or deity, but rebirth as a principle of nature. Man is alone. Such universal pessimism and resignation triggers an ethical awareness in Man, which in turn becomes an important step towards constructing self and analytical consciousness. 1800 years before our time, the Pharaohs eventually lose their absolute authority as a deity and must share immortality with a larger part of the population, based on an independent moral assessment of their lives, performed as a cumbersome ritual in the underworld after physical death. Osiris and ten judges place a weight on the dead man's heart and decide on immortality. From being the power and wealth that determines immortality, ethics is now the great judge. Man's evil or good deeds are keys. In the same way, but in different expressions, the ethical consciousness spreads in the contemporary and emerges a beginning ethically conscious human being. We glimpse a beginning philosophical interest in the meaning of life. What did antiquity know? Moses was entrusted to Pharaoh and consecrated in Egypt's secret cosmology. Moses must have known about Pharaoh Akhnathon's understanding of God as a transcendent deity, a deity outside of nature itself, a deity superior to nature. With the release of the Jews from slavery in Egypt, the worship of a God of fertility is developed into the worship of a deity standing above nature. Humans become interpreters of God's will and their task is to bring God's will to life. If I say that the will of God in life is the construct of an individual self and an analytical consciousness, am I still holding on to a red thread? Does the fellowship with the mythical nature expressed in the cave paintings, through the jews' liberation from the Pharaohs of Egypt into our modern self with our analytical consciousness, form a line? If so, what happened then in the time after the emigration? How did ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and Judaism create the Modern Man? By knowing the answer to the question, we can better understand Man as lonely, without God on an infinite journey in a dark and cold cosmos, searching for a path home. Think with your heart and feel with your head The separation of Man from nature was a necessary precondition for the development of an independent consciousness. The long journey from the cave to today's modernity has created the analytical brain. With the help of the analytical brain, Man is in the process of lifting himself out of disease and poverty, and in fact into space as a traveller to distant planets. But at what price? In order to develop the analytical brain, humans had to leave the world of the phenomenon. The challenge today is to be reunited with nature and thereby the myths, but this time on a level of consciousness that also contains the analysis. There will come a time in the evolution of Man where he will think with his head and feel with his head. To succeed with this new self-insight and expanded awareness, humans need to be co-creators of their own evolution. This is what Futures of Man strives for. Hang on Jon

  • Leadership - What Leadership?

We live in a situation where some of us have a good and comfortable life, at least at the surface. Others struggle to survive and to find something to eat on an every day basis. Others have to take the consequences from .......... ......... the environmental impact imposed by us humans. How did we get to this situation, where we extract the resources from Earth long beyond what it can manage? From my point of view we have ended up in this situation because of poor leadership. A leadership executed on all levels, from the individual, over the political and into the business levels. A leadership focused on short term goals, with lack of considerations of the consequences for them coming after. In many cases personal incentives, high salary, other benefits, power and votes in next election comes with highest priority. Maybe a hard description, but we are in a situation where leadership need to shift focus and add some new elements to be able to handle the situation we have put ourselves into. Lot of talk and promises, but no action, summarizes the situation. Of course there are numerous examples of good leaders and leadership out there, but sadly not in the right areas or positions. We are simply not good at describing consequences of decisions taken by ourselves or by leaders. And the same goes for our ability to create a narrative about our future that can serve as a beacon for humans to aim for. We are instead good of creating narratives that blurs the reality, and creating Domesday narratives that pictures the devastation of mankind together with our fellow animals and other living beings. We have a to narrow view of time and do not take the responsibility for the inheritors of what we have created. The care of each other has been exchanged to benefits for myself. What’s in it for me kind of handling? ”We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them”. Albert Einstein A profound change in the way we act, lead and decide things is needed. A change in the way many of us live, and a change in leadership. Changes in the way we live need to be practical and need to have benefits for all affected, meaning all of us. It most likely will have an impact of our current financial system, moving from growth to circular economy. I will not follow this thread in this article. It will take to much focus from the leadership aspect. In my view a new leadership is needed. A leadership that reflects the human and life side of the equation. A human side with respect for the individual, the right for different beliefs and the right to express your view. A leadership that also takes the right to life for all beings into considerations, before decisions are taken. Where long term perspective is a fundamental and natural part of discussions, analysis and synthesis of different problems or challenges. All changes occur inside individuals, so there is where it starts. The development of the new kind of leadership is at the starting level a transformation of you as an individual. Changes that will ripple across and over to gatherings, organizations and companies. Bringing the result of the transformation into action on different levels. The transformation includes gaining a new perspective of yourself, other individuals, how you do things and how what you do effects yourself, other persons, your activity and your surrounding world. It means that you have to really get to know your self, what you stand for and how you live according to your values. Make it clear for yourself what the new values will require from you. Find out what is true about yourself, seen from other persons point of view, and what is just things in your mind, or on paper, not put into live action in real life. You have the responsibility of leading the transformation of yourself. If you want to take on a leader role for others it requires that you take the responsibility for yourself and the ones you are set to lead. Taking on a leader role gives you power over others, in some sense, and with that follows also a responsibility to take care of them you have the responsibility for. It is not about becoming ”curling parent”, more from a coaching based perspective, coaching from another level of understanding. A coaching perspective with collaboration, co-creation, development and equal treatment as it foundation. A perspective that help you to have an eye on the long term view and at the same time conduct actions that benefits yourself, the ones you are set to lead, the activity you are engaged in and your surrounding environment. Can anybody become a leader, or is this something for specially trained and skilled persons? Tricky question, isn’t it? Everyone can, and should lead them selves. Can everyone lead others? Most likely everyone can, but with very different outcome. The leadership that need to emerge to handle, and to set out the way forward must have some characteristics as a foundation for their leadership. Most of them can be trained but some of them need to exist, on some level, within the person. A profound understanding of relationship, the importance of understanding, and to value other human beings are some. Understanding, and acting accordingly, the nature and other beings around us is another one. Obtain and develop the capability of resilience and resilient behavior is one thing that can be trained. Developing a holistic view and the use of scenario planning is another one. Setting and put into action long and short term goals with a just cause is another. Inspire others by live out the things that really matter and benefits the ones coming after us. We know that there are huge challenges laying there to be taken care of. Meaning that leaders will have to act in situations that will change rapidly. Leaders need to develop a mindset and ability to come out of every new situation with increased energy. Taking the opportunity to use the large amount of knowledge hiding in the ones being lead. Dare to involve everybody into risk management and idea creation. One keyword for the new leader is collaboration. Collaborate with the ones you lead, collaborate within or outside your organization. With collaboration you can create a real win - win situation. Are all the new leaders all ”well” educated with bachelor and master degrees? On the contrary, I think you can find the new leaders all over the place, you just have to look for the right ones. The ones that actually have some of the characteristics needed. The rest is a development thing. To create the needed changes we have to conduct to become into balance with our planet there is a need of change in behaviour, or self leadership if you want to use that word. If just people did this or that can be heard from politicians and business leaders. The people down at the bottom is the ones that need to change. This can seem right in some sense, but, and there is a big but. We all need to change - and change at different scales. As individuals or families we can contribute at some areas. As politicians you need to make your changes through your leadership at the level you are, with the benefit for your population and their environment as first objective. Working as business leader, or in authorities you need to make the necessary changes according to your work objectives and in the benefit of all living beings. The new leaders have the courage to tell how things really are, and they take responsibility for actions leading to a better situation for everyone. They care about the ones coming after us when setting goals, strategies and taking decisions. Be conscious! Ulf You bend your back when turmoil rules around you and everything is put at its extreme. You bend but don’t break. Rising up with new strength and experience. Stronger than before, ready to handle whatever comes in your way. Your fragmented mind is to no use when faced with unknown challenges. It cannot support you to make wise decisions. You have to return to your inherent I and reconnect with your true values. Removing the parts that actually are unnecessary roles you play. Becoming the real you. The way forward is not based on competition, now it is based on collaboration. Finding the things that unite, instead of split. Find and share our values as human beings as a foundation and focus on how to create a win-win situation, instead of a winner - loser mindset. • The Philosophy about 'us-ness’

Photo by Birmingham Museums; Trust on Unsplash Kennet, 1883, By William Morris I once took a sabbatical. For months, I essentially did only what inspired me, what gave me joy and fueled positive energy. It was the most spiritually inspiring time of my life. Pretty much all I did was meditate, enjoy my yoga classes, read, hiked and slept. Above all – wrote. There was no plan, no "shoulds". What mattered was how I understood "Maitri" (loving-kindness toward oneself – Pema Chödrön) – from that developing an awakening to fundamental happiness and contentment that I'd never known before. I had not written this article if it weren't for these fleeting months of reflective thought. I had spent much of the last decade thinking about the development of the future of relations. Well before this sabbatical, I had sought the well-known "eat-pray-love" trail of thoughts: "I've come to believe that there exists in the universe something I call "The Physics of The Quest" — a force of nature governed by laws as real as the laws of gravity or momentum. And the rule of Quest Physics maybe goes like this: "If you are brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting (which can be anything from your house to your bitter old resentments) and set out on a truth-seeking journey (either externally or internally), and if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on that journey as a clue, and if you accept everyone you meet along the way as a teacher, and if you are prepared – most of all – to face (and forgive) some difficult realities about yourself... then truth will not be withheld from you." Or so I've come to believe." (Elizabeth Gilbert – Eat, pray, love). Physics and mortals I wondered if there wasn't some physics for the future of relations. Maybe two forces repelled; perhaps the forces could only be attracted to ordinary humans. Do you know what the odds of making a balanced relationship between two entities last are? I didn't. I couldn't help wondering if it ever dissolved or if it simply…broke…Years of building up relationships with our loved ones, families, friends. Some lasting. Some are ending in a break. If I were a philosopher, I'd be batting…whatever bad is. A break can mean so much. First, it can ruin people's acute lives, sense of security and trust over time. But more than anything, it destroys our conversations. The most important ones. Without those, we can get nowhere. The fact is the first days after the break are quite messy and in a condition of survival. Unfortunately, the most important thing for the partner who is breaking up is to mark distance rather than showing empathy. But this takes us apart from the bigger picture. What we should instead do, is to lift our eyes on the overall dynamic. And this is often not enough put into attention in the first phase, especially if one is not open to listening to complex thoughts and solving issues. I've lived alone and been to many different spheres of life, seen a division between east and west. There is not enough room to divide the power balance. For the moments you would be proud of, those are the moments you would want to share - regardless. How indifferent those little fights may seem. Bigger questions. Much bigger. As Pema Chödron so delicately puts it, "making friends with our demons and their accompanying insecurity leads to an effortless, understated relaxation and joy." We still have time, for time doesn't build on minutes but moments. The future of relations So, what about philosophy about 'us-ness? That we have different identities and are challenged by personal standing points. What can give us this feeling of a 'we'... That it is wiser to focus together. That we nicely must accept that in a relation, we meet our deepest emotions and mirror each other in ways we choose to handle them. Are you sensitive? Then it can be wise to listen to the conversation. Think about what empathy and tolerance mean to you whilst telling the other how you want your partner to deal with it. If one doesn't do that, you actively take away any chance for communication. What's frightening is no communication. Easily burnt, short-sighted and infantile, sometimes totalitarian thoughts of courses, principles, rules, and shut down of conversations. When ideas are supposed to be closed, words forbidden, and distance implemented. Is this supposed to help? This is how someone with fear and insecurity thinks - that one is undefined and not reliable. The right person is often the most scared to be tested, on the other hand. The break pushes us into the direction of these types of conversation. Unfortunately, we gradually are pulled away without mutual communication and go each other into different poles into a survival mode. We are often paralyzed at the thought of a break where it takes us. Dissolution. To be in dissolution. That's not good. We need to go on a cooperative level. The path is the goal We must think of it like this: the outer edges are precisely that, outer edges. We will fall if we continue to push each other towards the edge - and then it turns wrong. The middle is not only important, the middle is the centre. The break doesn't imply we are incompetent, but it only means the centre is suppressed and attacked. We must take care of the middle centre of where everything comes from and hold a circle around everything we hold dear. We must dare to stand in the unknown, to stand firm by one's self by oneself alone. This is the path to go for the seeking human. In this path, every act counts. Every thought and emotion count too. This is all the path we have. Here we come to understand why we need to mend our relations, for we are only here living for a short while, not even long enough to witness all its wonders. Suppose we are at last willing to see the difference between the broad, valuable midway and the extreme edges. In that case, this break can be a source of growth and renewable for a new spring. Dear reader, should you ask me “Well, how is this future of relationships?” The answer is simple. Learn to stand in the unknown. This should be our goal in the world: Learn to stand by oneself by one self alone. This is the notion of being on the straight path. Every man and every woman have an excellent opportunity to understand the known and the unknown in the world in every day of our lives. In the absence of the other, learn the language of the unseen. • Awareness - the key to supremacy over intelligent machines

The development of Artificial intelligence is rolling on. Obstacles are defeated in expected ways, but sometimes in completely unexpected ways. Ways that can be both good, and bad, or at least a warning flag to us. There is no doubt that there can be, and actually already are, vast benefits with ”machines” that can help us solve boring, repetitive, dangerous, or even complex work issues. Come up with new and better ways in parts of healthcare, mathematics, knowledge around Universe or in administrative tasks, just as an example. There is not a single area where we could not benefit from support from intelligent ”machines”. This view of Artificial Intelligence is a very positive one. It will provide us humans with the possibility to free up some of our working time to use it in a way that is more beneficial for ourselves and the persons around us. Free time for us to spend with family, friends and so on. It will also help us find solutions of many of the problems with have around us, support us with new solutions of known, or not yet know challenges. Unfortunately every development brings at least two opposite sides of every invention or solution. Opposing sides that will eventually have both positive, and negative effects of its surroundings. Effects that either has been missed, not been analyzed, or even worse, have been known but neglected. When implications are neglected, for any reason, the outcome can be something that was not what we asked for. There are examples of Artificial Intelligence solutions that has been optimized to fulfill a single task, a task it actually conducts very well, that have huge implications for the ones using the actual system. A system that brings a lot of benefits, but at the same time brings enormous drawbacks for the users at the same time. An Artificial Intelligence ”machine” could be a strong adversary when it comes to cyber security. Capable of analyzing different systems it is set to brake or intrude. It can also be used in autonomous military assets, as drones or robots. Systems that have been instructed to act independent from human support, if the timeframe for dialogue is to short. There are live examples of drones that have taken ”kill” decisions of its own, without human intervention. Drones from science fiction is already here. There is a possible dark side connected to that some players in the development field of Artificial Intelligence are so financially strong that it might be impossible for others to compete with development of Artificial Intelligence systems. Leading to a situation with a few that dominates the market, and that harvest most of the money out there. A few players that have collected enormous amount of data about people giving them a big advantage in both the development, but also financial. A situation that might increase inequality on a global level. Is it all dark then? Of course not. Awareness is rising, and things not on the agenda just a few years ago is now under discussion within governments, authorities and organizations. Topics are on the agenda to understand what need to be done to have the benefits from the development of Artificial Intelligence and at the same time minimize the risks the same system could provide us with, conscious or not. Initiatives come from different players, and in different areas, all with the same objective. To increase awareness of what is happening in the field right now, possible actions that need to be handled to secure a safe development of Artificial Intelligence that is beneficial for the complete population, not just a few. One thing discussed is the general knowledge about Artificial Intelligence as such. What it is, what it can do, both pros and cons with it. In Finland the University of Helsinki and Reaktor created a free on line course for basics of AI. Later a Swedish University provided the same material in Swedish. Knowledge about Artificial Intelligence is crucial. Increasing the knowledge is equally important for those at school and for the rest of us. Crucial knowledge that has to increase among politicians, decision takers and business leaders. Another initiative was launched in the United States, and most likely in other countries as well, an initiative that involved discussions about ethics into the education of coming computer science /data engineers with focus on development of Artificial Intelligence. Increasing awareness that there are several ethical aspects to consider when developing Artificial Intelligence systems. This is something that should be discussed among politicians, companies and academia as well. The Value Alignment problem is another topic that is getting increased attention. Stuart Russell defines the value alignment problem as follows: How can we build autonomous systems with values that “are aligned with those of the human race”. Important question that will be on the radar for a very long time. Lot of implications for development, but an issue that need to be discussed openly. To make it possible for the small ones to actually be part of the development Artificial Intelligence there is a need to put in place , costly infrastructure; that can be used as development platforms. Helping out, and at the same time diminish the vast advantage that some of the really big ones have. Projects of this kind is emerging but need to have a boost. Finally there is a need of open discussions, on a global level, around ongoing, and planned, development of Artificial Intelligence. A need of sharing of information, a discussion of globally implemented agreements around one task optimized Artificial Intelligence solutions, as well as agreements around autonomous military assets. It will not be beneficial for anyone to have this kind of assets, with the risk of malfunction, without common understanding. Maybe there is something we can learn about our own way of doing things, and relate to each other during the discussions around what we want Artificial Intelligence to behave in a beneficial and safe way. One thing is clear, without openness, the need of increased awareness becomes crucial. It actually is super important even with an open exchange of information. Awareness makes you ask the right and the important questions. Increasing awareness to others helps to lift important questions into the agenda of politicians, policy makers and industrial leaders. This question is to important to just let it happen. Be conscious Ulf

  • The choice of a preferred future

Maybe it sounds a bit odd. Can you choose your future? Do I have to use a Fortune teller? Or is it connected to some kind of alchemy? My answer to the first question is , yes, I can choose my future. To the other two my answer is no. If you are curios let us see if I can give you some more clarity to the sentence in the headline. ’For tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today' African proverb Why bother about the future? It is something that will occur later and will have little impact on my, or ours, life right now. I do not have the time to vaste on the blurry future. This might be a description of a common thinking today. All too common, but a dangerous one to follow. Future will have an impact on your life, and in our rapidly changing world it might have a great impact if you are not prepared. Moving from not to be prepared to actually have clarified your possible futures, sets you in a completely different situation. Create the possibility to choose your preferred future seems even better. I have these options of future and with all my heart I feel this possible future the one that resonates best. What do I need to do to get there? This is a completely different approach to just do nothing, but it will take some effort from you. It will not come for free, even if there are forces that will come to your help once you have traced your path. There is a good helper in the process in the form of the law of attraction. The laws of attraction has at least three parts, or it consist of three, or more, laws if you like that better. The parts are, ”Like attracts like”, ”Nature abhors a vacuum” and ”The present is Always perfect”. The idea is that a positive view of your situation, regardless how bad, and a positive image of the future, will bring positive energy to you. What we think about and believe in, we also tend to put it into action. The law is in action regardless if your thoughts are positive or negative. That is what’s behind ”Like attracts like”. The work to find out your possible futures starts with knowing yourself in a deeper and more profound way than you are used to. Really get to know yourself, asking other, honest persons, to give you feedback on your behavior and your expressed values, and how you live by them. Take time to really figure out what your real interests are. Find out which your most important qualifications are, as well as finding out which your really important social qualifications are. Reflect on them, find out if you actually are living according to them. Or do you have a working and personal life that differs from what really is closest to your heart? If you are fortunate to have a complete match , lucky you. You only have to look into the future to find out if there are risks that could overturn your present situation. You can find opportunities along the path you have. It might look easy, but it will require you to take a look on the area you are working within to see if there are adaptions you need to conduct. A significant task that requires awareness and reflection. If the match is poor, or even missing, there will be some more work for you to conduct and challenges to follow, regardless if the mismatch is in your personal, or in your working life. When you compare your inner wanted position, relating to your heart, with the work or life situation there is a Delta. A difference between the situations that might have a big impact for you. It is time to elaborate a bit over the inner wish. What can it mean? Where can I find inspiration to outline another future? There is actually methods to help you to start the work. Here I will focus on work related things, even if the result will have great impact on your personal life in all aspects. As you have a better idea of your real interests, your individual and social qualifications, you have established a good starting point. Together they provide you with an image of what you can do and what you are good at. If you compare this with the best guesses of skills for the 21st Century, you will find some of them that attracts you more than others. Write them down in your memory, or on paper, for future use. It’s time to take a look into the future in different areas by making use of Megatrends, big trends that will have impact on society, in one way or another, if or when they occur. Megatrends are used by futurists as a tool to seek and understand possible futures. They have a timespan of 10 years or more. Find the ones that relates to the areas you have noted down. Merge them together, draw your conclusions, reflect on them and start to outline a picture of possible futures that go along with your inner wishes. It might surprise you, but there will be several, possible futures to choose from. The process does not stop there some steps remain. If you have chosen an image of the future of what you want to become, it is time to outline the steps to get there. All steps will have to be described and executed in the present leading towards chosen future. A crash course in personal development maybe, very briefly described. You can make use of ”scenario planning” to outline possible futures if you really want to dig deep. But it all comes down to really know yourself and find out what your inner dreams are. From them you can seek out the future, your future. The one that gives you a sense of fulfillment and meaning. Off course it can mean that you will have to make som profound changes about your occupation, your ways of behaving or in the way you relate to other human beings. There are decisions to take, decisions that have to be taken by you. If you prepare your future and take actions to get there you have gained more control over your life. You have the responsibility for your own The future has been waiting long enough. If we don't take care of it, other hands will do it. Inspired by a quote of Adlai Stevenson But what if I am not in the position to make any profound changes in my work life. I really need to have the work for my outcome, even if I do not like it. Then you have to find ways of how to change your mindset about your situation, find out ways that can change your mind about how things are. Outline an image of how it could look like if you would like the work you have. Outline it and transform it into small steps of action to get there. Moving yourself into your preferred future, in the very small sense. Remember ” The present is always perfect”. Be conscious! Ulf Stop the constant flow of impressions hitting you. Take a break and look deep inside you. Who are you? The role or roles you play, or something more profound? Reflect over the things that just happen, and the things you do conscious. Find out the difference, the real you. Your future is not carved into rock, decided by your surroundings. There are actually many possible futures awaiting for you to take the lead. Futures that will fit in to your inner desired situation. To find them you have know yourself and find out your inner purpose and desire. It might feel like hell, the situation you are stuck in. All dark and not even the slightest light. You have to light it yourself. How does it look like with some light of the situation? Change need to occur in your mindset. A different view of a possible future will work as your lever. • May Man push his evolution?

Don’t we drive or push our evolution right now? We have had a tremendous development up till now, and it don’t seem to slow down? But the intention of push in the headline is actually to make a push towards another development. As we act today it is valid to ask the question; Is it evolution of Man or is it about evolution of the unity with all living? Where are we now? The time of self-focus and my success. No time to make a change, Effortless and convenient. I want it all and I want it now. Can the lyrics from the song” I want it Now” give us a clue? I want the world I want the whole world I want to lock it All up in my pocket It's my bar of chocolate Give it to me now I want today I want tomorrow I want to wear 'em Like braids in my hair and I don't want to share ’em By Primus - Lyrics - Anthony Newley / Leslie Bricusse We seek the solution in the smallest parts we know about, and surprisingly they describe a situation suggested by the ancient civilizations long gone. What can we learn from the method we use, pick things apart, remove the relation from the whole into fragmented theories, further and further away from the unity? We develop and invent things in all areas, all the time. Maybe they will help, or not. Technology gives us a lot of benefits, but it also creates problems. One lesson we can make, if we take the time to reflect and evaluate, is that many technological inventions have created a lot of good things, but also a long list of problems for the environment and for individual people or even for societies. This is a fact that is valid for almost every development area. In the beginning it all seems like a good idea, but after a decade or two drawbacks emerge. Moving from a good situation to a potentially dangerous situation and after another decade or two a dangerous situation for certain. Why is it like this? Why do we do things so short sited? Just go for a short time benefit without taking any consideration of the long-time effects and the impact inflicted to our surroundings and fellow species in a broad sense? What are the drivers behind? A lot of questions that have different answers, and I have no intention to bring up the answers here. It would require a completely different article. No, I will reflect on possible ways forward, a way that takes a holistic view on our development. Push for a different evolution. May Man push his evolution? In my opinion we can, and we must. The other option is for me a non-existing one. Not doing anything is not an option. Leaning towards our political, business and authority’s leadership will not work either. All with too short-term focus. Just considering the development of Artificial Intelligence, in all of its forms, will give us a lot of possibilities, but it also brings some very critical threats with them. Some of the development conducted by states with political agendas, and other conducted by companies with Return on Investment and power built in their agenda. Not a very promising picture I paint out for you. Where is the way forward then? The simple answer is, it is up to you, but that seems a little baggy. What do I mean then? You and I for instance, can make a difference. We can start what we do as persons. What are my basic needs of things to have stored into my home? Is it something I use for my living, or is it just a surplus? Can I fix the things that I consider as broken? Can I leave them to someone else that can bring them to life? I can choose to buy from someone that produces in a respectful and environmentally safe way. From a company with a long-term view and that takes, real, responsibility for their actions. But you may say, we are just the two of us. That’s right but we also have friends, colleagues, contacts in social media that we can inspire. What about science and technology then? One thing we have learned during the centuries is that theories and ideas are just tiny time capsules. They are valid for a short time, then replaced with developed or completely new theories. This brings up another angle of possibilities. There is a need of holistic and longtime view of our development. You cannot find the overall picture by increasing the power of the microscope. You have to fit the pieces together on a system level that is connected to the overall picture. We are all made of the same stuff, just put together in different forms. From the rock, germ, virus, flower, tree, bird, fish, and human. We are all made of the same stuff. Stuff that entangles on the very low level. Mather of fact there is some evidence emerging that this occurs on high levels as well. In my worldview, there is nothing strange with that. We can, and should, use similar methods on science as we can towards business. We require that science place their results and discoveries into an overall system image. Explaining how they relate and how we can develop science further to take a holistic view. We can ask our ´scientists to come up with suggestions of actions of how to implement the new knowledge into the real life, that benefits us all, all species. When it comes to our politicians and authorities, we can evaluate them from a delivery point of view. Not from a promise, or we will start an investigation point of view. No, from a view where you can follow the reasoning and presentation over to action plans and real action. Follow that the reasoning gives the people voted for them what they promised. That they need to take a holistic view and dare to propose actions that will benefit the voters, the society, and the planet at the same time. This requires courage and builds trust. But all this requires another important factor. It requires us to take a wider perspective and that we increase our awareness of that things are intertwined. We are not separate from each other’s or other parts of the planet. We are all part of it. If we think of them that will take over after us, maybe we can start to think a bit different, and most of all, start to act a little different with a holistic perspective. Find out what is really important for the unity and start to act from that point of view. Be Conscious Ulf

  • Promised lands?

To provide a portrait of the world we live in; countries and continents have had waves of prehistoric settles across the land borders of the world. Where the Old Testament forefathers found milk and honey, can we continue to find the milky way and build a new paradise in the wilderness of the universe? We take a closer look on an introduction to refugees and the world, to introduce the theme of migration and its historical content, its relationship to the foundation of humanity being in constant movement and how to respond to the challenge of migration and refugees in today’s multi-cultural/multi-faith setting in Europe. When we look up on the sky, after restless wandering, can we begin to think and feel as being trapped on earth? Think about it for a moment. Our planet Earth is perhaps more than ever set on a wild ride to voyage out to space delicately moving our own existential borders beyond what is even in our capacity today. If we think about it, being “trapped” on earth, are we as humans perhaps the new migrants of the universe? What will it take for humans to pass our voyage through space and settle? Who does it belong to and what is in our right and in our possession? What has history taught us about migration and movement across continents? Promised lands? In another life We stand side by side Laughing against faith That we in a different life Should one day stand alone In another life We laugh against each other Thinking out loud What if we in a different life Should stand apart from each other In this life We stand side by side Our gaze fixed towards the infinite Frustrated over how easy Faith from a different life Places us in distance from another In this life We stand side by side Our gaze fixed towards each other In hopes that in a different life Faith is on our side The seeds we plant I placed the package of seeds in a small bag that I had seen my mother sew together the days before I was to leave. "Flowers teach us that nothing is permanent: not even its beauty, not even the fact that they will eventually wither because they will continue to grow new seeds. Remember this when you experience joy, anger, or pain. Everything goes on, grows old, dies, and is reborn. The only guarantee in life is death." How many storms do we have to go through before we understand this? At times the sound of my wounds is hollow; I was ready to leave the country in the evening, with its identical day and night. And still, today, as I write this, I understand that my mother was also talking about herself. "Even the tallest trees can grow from small seeds like this. Remember this and try not to rush with time." "Everything in the world has two sides. People who the cruel God of love has abandoned are also capable because they look inside the past and wonder why they made so many plans. But if they search through the memories even more profound, they will remember the day when the seeds were planted, and how they took care of them, how they fertilised them, and let them grow until it became a tree that could never be uprooted." Instinctively, I thought of my mother's package of Kurdish seeds she brought before I left. I always carried them with me. "When a woman or man is focused on their pain. No one stops to think about what has happened to the other person. Whether they also suffer or have left something behind their hearts to stay with the family because of society's claims or rumours? Every night they must sleep in their beds, sleepless nights, confused and lost, wondering if they made the wrong decision. Other times, they may feel confident that it was their responsibility to protect their families and descendants. But time is not on their side; the more the moment of separation grows in the distance, the more their memories are cleansed from the bad moments and return to a longing for a paradise that felt lost. The other person can no longer help himself. He gets distant, he seems distracted during the weeks, and on Saturdays and Sundays, he goes to his God to pray. There is no wind stronger to make the boat change course; it stays in port among the still waters. Everyone suffers, those who leave, those who remain, and their families. No one can do anything - only time itself and the seeds we plant day by day, which with growth, faith, love, and heartbeat will create tides in even the most mirror-bright harbors...# *Passages and quotes from the novel "The Spy" by Paolo Coelho Looking for a home The universe has a particular connection where anything from micro to atom size and quark sizes has a connection to the macro system. From where we live in an ocean to the direction of the wind scattering the flower's seeds so that our lands can blossom. To what foundation do we need to harmonise our physical existence to the quantum and metaphysical. To what foundation isn't it only natural that we as physical beings move and are in movement. This is a fundamental truth we have has one specie on earth – the one absolute truth is that we, like everything else connected on earth, are in constant movement. Gravity – is it the divine that drives everything down or a broader outer vacuum that presses us down? Who blows life into the earth soil? How is everything realised? To introduce this articles terminology and theme, you as a reader may already have drifted off the unknown of the terminology's true heritage – this article is about migration. The word migrate comes from Latin roots meaning 'move'. A migrant moves. To emigrate is to leave your country. To immigrate is to enter another. Long story short, immigration and immigrant are seen as unfavourable. Being a refugee means to flee (back) and to take refuge. To conclude, language is NOT neutral; it always conveys acceptance or hostility. So, what are the implications of speaking about a 'European' 'refugee'' crisis'? This so-called crisis is a contested question. Displacement of people is due to, among other things, conflict, repression in the Middle East and Africa. Displaced people are dying on their way to and in Europe. Displaced people live in destitutions at the border of and in Europe. So, is it a European issue? Most forces migration takes place outside Europe. Most people fleeing the Middle East/Africa stay in the region. The longest and most dangerous part of people's journeys to Europe takes place outside of Europe. In short – Europe's borders are enacted outside of Europe. The first things to be clear on, the borders are not a line to cross but a practice that affects different people differently. There is a problematic distinction between 'economic migrants' and 'refugees' – people move for various complex reasons. Then there is the politics of labelling: who is deserving and who is not? So, what happens when we call issues of movement a 'crises? I beg to differ – it Is not a crisis of people moving but a crisis of people being prevented from moving to and across Europe – with a lack of legal routes to safety. Calling it a crisis has enabled various forms of violence against displaced people and made it more difficult for people to enter Europe legally and safely. Calling it a crisis has also inspired humanitarian responses. If it is a 'crisis', then it is a political crisis that requires a political response, such as enabling people seeking refuge to travel to Europe legally and safely. In a quest of searching for a home, we know there is something rather than nothing out there. We know there is earth, which is our home. The universe is all of space and time and their contents including planets, stars, galaxies and all other forms of matter and energy. To conclude and to rephrase the question of promised lands, who really owns the world? Nobody. We are solitarily responsible towards each other. We as atoms on earth, become stardust the day the universe decides to and wants to. This is completely out of our control and our ownership, My dear friend, I survive when you survive. • THE MYSTERY OF THE GOLDEN RATIO

Most people seek balance in their lives. Understandably. Imbalance often feels like a struggle. If our lives get out of balance, we want to compensate. Few people seem to know that life as a creative process is based on imbalance and that the secret....... .....is hidden in mathematics. In this month's PREMIUM article, I will highlight the Universe's creative starting point, a starting point that is out of balance. I will show you how imbalance is the prerequisite for beauty. I have a big challenge as I am not a mathematician, architect or painter. I ask you to take an extra good look at the article's main picture, a painting of a bridal procession in a Norwegian fjord, Hardangerfjord, painted in 1849. The painting is a national treasure for the Norwegians and hangs in The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design, in Oslo , Norway. Most people will probably agree with me that this is a beautiful picture, despite the fact that the picture is built on the basis of imbalance and should disturb both the eye and the mind. Why not? I will answer you by taking a big step back in time. We shall visit the ancient Egyptians. The ancient Egyptians were handed down an epistemology (science-based insight) which, through a few hundred years of development, created a cosmology (knowledge of the universe) presented in monumental building structures, such as pyramids, temples and statues. What did the ancient Egyptians know that we do not know today? Hide this epistemology keys to the future path of Man? Is this metaphysical science hidden in the Egyptian hieroglyphs, pyramids, temples, statues - that is, in their mathematics? I do believe so. The French Egyptologist, mathematician and mystic, René Adolphe Schwaller de Lubicz, analyzed and conveyed hidden and forgotten insights into Egyptian sacred mathematics. You can read more about Schwaller de Lubicz by searching for information about his great work "Temple of Man". Within the framework of this article, I can not delve further into the sacred mathematics of the Egyptians. I must confine myself to reloading you with the question 'Where did the Egyptians get this knowledge from?'. Despite my limitations you shall not be left to yourself in the middle of the article, so I make a leap into the Egyptians' notions of how the world was created - it was created through a 'mathematical point' - a point out of balance, called the golden ratio. In a little while I'll get there. In an early stage of their civilization, the scientific Egyptian priests worshiped a composite group of 'gods', which we today call the Ogdoand, a group consisting of eight 'gods'. These eight 'gods' were forces of nature that manifested themselves as constitutions of the creative process. Remember that the 'religion' of the Egyptians was a science of nature and not a belief in God as an entity that humans no a-days practice as their faith. Gods were not religious entities, but metaphysical and physical natural phenomena that were conveyed in an abstract and symbolic language. Ancient Egyptian cosmology explains the pre-creation of the world as a primeval ocean. The sea was ubiquitous, infinite, without boundaries and direction. The abyss had no surface, no bottom, nothing was up and nothing was down, only an endless dark depth. In the primeval sea reigned ONE - the incomprehensible, the ONE who cannot be continued, the ONE who does not have a name and the ONE who cannot be depicted. I am talking about the ONE as the transcendent creative force that entered matter as permanence - as Universe. I will come to this point but first introduce you to two ancient Egyptian metropolises of great scientific significance. Hermopolis The ancient Egyptians established metropolises for the development and worship of their scientific-religious notions of the creative process and the cosmos. Hermopolis is one of these metropolises and was an ancient provincial capital on the border between Lower and Upper Egypt. Hermopolis (Greek) was the name of the ancient Egyptian Khemenu which means eight cities. The meaning is derived from the 'god group' Ogdoand. These eight 'deities' existed before the creation of the universe and were contained in the primordial ocean. Heliopolis The ancient Egyptians worshiped the sun as 'god' and the name was Ra. Heliopolis is connected to the cosmological narrative of where ONE creates itself in a presens - the Universe. The ancient Egyptians explained that the creator god Atum took the step out of the primeval ocean and into the physical 3D matter. Heliopolis reveals the ultimate mystery of 'not' being 'and' being '. Atum rises from the primeval ocean and is all the eight gods assembled, all what is needed to create a physical universe. With ONE and the other eight ‘gods’ as forces of nature based on ONE, we have explained the cosmology of ancient Egyptians about the 9 laws of nature that underlie the Universe as a living and conscious cosmos. But what does this have to do with a bridal procession in a Norwegian fjord in 1848? Imbalance, imbalance as a basis for beauty, my friend. Follow me. The ancient Egyptians understood the creation of the Universe as an action initiated by ONE - the transcendent being or deity if you will, the being and deity humans have no knowledge of. This ONE created itself in its image and the image is the manifested 3D universe our solar system is part of. Therefore, the old religious saying that 'God is within us' has an explanation. The one who seeks God must seek within. ONE took the step out of the primeval sea in the form of a creative force that the Egyptians named Atum. This creative force was both ONE and the additional eight constitutional 'gods' - that is, laws of nature, which were needed to create a universe. Let me say a little about the first three laws of nature, before I get to the point of the article. The Law of the Trinity All manifestation is based on The three forces: A. Positive force (the active polarity) B. Negative force (the passive polarity) C. Neutralizing power (the neutralizing power) All three forces are equally active and their effect on each other (positive, negative, neutralizing) is about intersecting connections. They assume the forms in relation to each other and only at a given time. A and B can be understood to a certain extent and be perceived, but C is only occasionally observable where the forces find their collective expression - in what we can call the result. I often name the C as a mediating force, the connecting force. Let us transfer this to an example where we choose to work with ourselves to expand our consciousness: Our initiative will be A. The positive force (the active polarity). The inertia of the implementation will be B. The negative force (the passive polarity). These two forces will either balance each other or one will surpass the other even if at the same time it will not be strong enough to create further development in the initiative. In this way, the two forces will orbit each other with the result that one will absorb the other and produce zero as a result. This can actually be a picture of life as a whole, we do not create development because life ‘demands’ to stop the initiative. This is how life will continue until the third force enters the process, often as a result of new insights / knowledge that prove beneficial to the direction of the process. The third force is the force which makes it possible to overcome the inertia of the creative process and which causes the process to get on the trail of its intended direction. All manifestation of all kinds of phenomena, requires the interaction of the three forces. If one of the forces fails, the initiative falls back to zero - to the starting point and remains an idea. This understanding of the Three Forces is embodied in the great religious and mythical tales and is often referred to as the Trinity. This insight was owned by the ancient Egyptians and this is the story of the primeval sea and the creator god Atum as the 'god' emerges from the primeval sea. I can possibly make the presentation more understandable by saying that ONE represents the term IMAGE. The transcendental creative force made an IMAGE of itself and used this as a basis for what was to come. Then ONE initiated what I call the MOVEMENT which is the polarizing force of physical matter. These two forces where connected by the mediating third force. The result was CONSCIOUSNESS. The Trinity was a fact. ONE became TWO by what is called 'the existential division' and is given the name 'the golden ratio'. The golden ratio arises from the mathematical term ‘phiʼ which is an irrational number with the value 1.618034. We find ‘phiʼ in the proportions of the human body, in nature, in architecture, in art, etc. Dawn - the irrational point of where ONE entered the matter The Golden ratio. The figure shows how a line, a, can be divided in the golden ratio. a forms one catheter in a right-angled triangle where the other catheter is a / 2. This length is also deposited on the hypotenuse. The rest of the hypotenuse then constitutes x of a. a – x then relates to x as x to a. To the ancient Egyptians, the 'existential division' was their only inexplicable and inevitable mythological phenomenon. How ONE could become TWO by an irrational division of ONE could not be explained. By leaving the harmonic the state of ONE in a ‘skewnessʼ (1.618034) - that is, by going out into ‘chaosʼ, beauty arose. That is, the creative process presupposes chaos. The transcendent force rises out of the primeval ocean and into matter at ‘the golden ratio'. Atum is manifested by the irrational ‘phiʼ. ONE as the absolute and non-polar energy, objectified itself by creating a polarized energy. ONE became TWO, but TWO is not ONE plus ONE. Metaphysically, TO cannot be the sum of ONE plus ONE, since ONE metaphysically exists only as one. ONE is EVERYTHING and therefore cannot become TWO by multiplying itself, only by dividing itself byʼphiʼ. Difficult? Yes, that was also the case with the ancient Egyptians. They understand how to use the mystery, but they could not explain it. Some comments in depth Polarity is fundamental in all phenomena. The golden ratio expresses the clarity Egyptian myths describe this fundamental opposition in the endless conflict between Seth and Horus, where Seth is the god of chaos and Horus is the god of health. It is thus in the meeting between chaos and health that the creative process manifests itself. The primordial irrational division triggers demands for a correspondence and in this way matter moves in its evolution. Our modern science of nature is conscious about polarity as a fundamental phenomenon, without recognizing the transcendent character and significance of polarity. In an esoteric language we can say that energy is the measurable expression of the spirit's revolt against being trapped in matter. Our modern scientific language cannot express that way of thinking, but the mythical language of the Egyptians could. The god Ptah, the creator of all forms, is depicted as trapped in the form of being wrapped in cloth. Could this also be a picture of how the human consciousness is trapped in a 3D understanding of reality and that the purpose of expanding its consciousness is to free itself from the ‘matter'? Polarity is fundamental in all phenomena, without exception, but it changes expression determined by the situation. Our language expresses this. We use different linguistic expressions for polarity, depending on the situation we are going to describe: negative / positive, active / passive, male / female, initiating / resting, expressive / denying, yes / no, true / false, etc. The word pairs are all expressions of polarity in different phenomena / forms. This form of clarity in the use of terms obscures the cosmic meaning. The myths avoid this, they give clear explanations. See TWO in relation to itself and you look into the primordial (that is, fundamental / divine) state of tension. TWO is a hypothetical state of perpetually uncoordinated and unforgiving opposition. In physical reality, this state is redeemed. If TWO were locked in a hypothetical state of 'unforgiving opposition', nothing would happen and the universe could not exist. By becoming TWO, ONE also became THREE, because polarity can only consist of an opposite, negative must have plus, otherwise no negative polarity and vice versa. TWO is bound to unity and thus TWO is contained in unity / whole by the simultaneous establishment of THREE which represents the 'reconciliation' - ie the relation. This 'three-in-one' principle is represented in the Trinity and expressed in Christianity as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Dear - if you find this material difficult to comprehend then comfort yourself with the fact that the ancient Egyptians as the great scientific culture they were, did not them selves understood the scope of the irrational phi and therefore not this article author either. My hope, however, is that even though we do not understand metaphysics, we can sense the beauty of chaos. Well done my friend! Jon The transcendent creative force penetrates into the fabric of matter by the irrational and inexplicable golden ratio. What does the transcendent force know that is not obvious to humans? Imbalance is the input value for a universe in balance. Should the positive and negative polarity dance until it finds love in the meeting with each other and creates the consciousness - the child of the two? I have long wondered about humans. They strive for life in balance and do not know that they are thus locking themselves inside the substance's inherently slow form. If humans are to succeed in pushing a spaceship from the planet Mars back to planet Earth, the rocket engines need to be supplied with oxygen. The oxygen must be produced on Mars. The picture is obvious to me. Man himself must create the conditions for breaking through the inertia of matter. Humans believe in their thoughts. There, they are completely wrong. You expand no way through your thoughts. It's just a side-by-side helper. You need the help of your abstract and symbolic notions of the mysteries. You are filled with hieroglyphs that carry the message of your extended life. These hieroglyphs are waiting for you to call on them. Where is Man in 900 years? Futures of Man seeks new ideas about the future of Man. As I am one of the magazine's authors, my challenge is to dare to go beyond established truths. I can do it when I use fiction. Which I will do in this article. Wormhole: Benji64, Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 3.0 In order for Man, and in particular the humane humanity that holds love, art and innovation as special qualities, to be able to place itself in the future, humanity must make certain choices. Humanity and the individual human being must choose a future for themselves and place themselves in their choice. I call this future positioning. To get started with an article of about 1000 words and where the perspective is 900 years, I will make some powerful sorts. I choose to focus on you as a reader, on you as an individual and on your time axis. But, before I do that, I'll still make a leap into space - the universe of the great unknown of the future. Can we travel 900 years forward in time? Is a future journey possible? The theoretical quantum mechanics is not foreign to the thought, we can travel through wormholes. Look at the illustration above that accompanies the article. It shows what a journey between two dimensions via a wormhole can look like. Let us play with the idea that the physical measures we need to complete the journey are possible. In such a situation, man can travel through parallel dimensions of the universe via "tunnels" that move us faster than light. Such a speed is a great advantage as it will take us 4,300 years at the speed of light to reach our nearest neighboring star in the Milky Way, the Proxima Centauri. Via a wormhole, it could happen as a ride on the subway. If we traveled 900 years into time at the speed of light, we would have come about a quarter of the way to the Proxima Centauri and even if the aging process goes later in space, we would probably not have reached within the framework of our life course. It would all go too slowly, even at the speed of light. But, if I absolutely want to know how humans and humanity have evolved in 900 years, I can travel with fiction - it works almost like a wormhole. I can imagine 900 years into time and place myself there. I place myself in the future, an imaginary future, and I call it future positioning. Theoretical quantum physics will be able to help me with such an experiment. Let me explain with the well-known example ´Schrödinger's cat´. A cat is sitting in a closed box with a substance and a geiger counter, which can measure if the substance is broken down. If the geiger counter detects that the substance is being broken down, a poison gas is released which kills the cat. Whether the substance is broken down or not is controlled by quantum mechanics. According to Schrödinger, the thought experiment tells us that the cat's condition is only determined when we look down into the box. Until then, the possibilities are open, so to speak. In that way, one can imagine that while the future is normally open, it will be determined as soon as we look at it. This is bias in my thoughts about 'futures positioning'. Note that the future is 'normally open' and then 'determined as soon as we look at it'. This is almost Vedic philosophy! Thoughts are energies and they shape futures. What can I use such insight for? My article is not about time travel as such, in a quantum mechanical sense, but about an opportunity for you and me to look into the future and then determine it for your and my use. In the eye that I have looked into the future and I think well and notice the future that I prefer and so choose, then I can attach it and move myself into it. This is what future positioning is all about and which is a focal point for us in Futures of Man. You may have read the PREMIUM article for April this year? Where my colleague Ulf Kurkiewics writes about his transformative self-development through the program DAWN? Do it, read the article. You will be indirectly presented with a wormhole, a method of how you can travel into your preferred future and place yourself there, through a transformative process of introspection. The thoughts my colleague Ulf presents illustrate the thoughts I present. The path to the future is a matter of positioning. To achieve this, you must know yourself with a new self-insight and expanded consciousness. You can develop it by constructing your individual wormhole and jumping into the future picture you prefer. There you will find your life balanced and free. Precisely how the Universe is designed to promote growth and development. Nice jump! Jon

  • What is spirituality?

Spirituality is basically about the journey of our soul from body to body. It is not something you are in conscious contact with in a busy everyday life, where you have lots of chores. A simple experience can hit something deep in us - A longing, a desire, a being. Here is one of my experiences: I run through the woods. There is only me. What wonderful freedom ... The sun is shining and the weather is good. I feel the monotonous rhythm from my feet. Slips into a meditative rhythm. A rhythm that makes me peaceful, open and free ... Then I find myself in a completely different place. There is no path in the woods where I ran a moment ago. I walk in a forest clearing to where the forest begins. There's a man I know, but something's wrong. He (John) is taller than I am. Strange. Usually I'm taller than him. He stands completely still. I walk towards him. He is still standing completely still. Next to him on the left are the 7 known chakras. A voice speaks. It's not John's voice? Strange! "Lars you have the ability to penetrate everything ..." Then follows a simple description of the 7 chakras. I walked with John into the woods. Inside the forest stands a powerful man with a black hood over his head. He asks me to reach out my hands. With a charred branch, he draws a symbol on each of my hands. A triangle in one and a circle in the other. " Then I return to the present. Instinctively, I look back. How far have I run while I was somewhere else? Why have I not fallen? I contacted John by email where I told him my experience. I heard nothing for a month and a half. Then he called me while I was driving. I arranged a meeting with John. John came to work with me for several years. The very work that I call "core talk" consisted of going through the many layers that a problem consists of. One day John said to me. You almost ready now. Call me tomorrow. I called John and he says a sentence to me I can not hear .: Lars .: John you must repeat what you said. I can not hear it John: I will say it again. You're trying to protect yourself. 3 times John had to repeat the sentence. Before he said it last time, I imagined I was a tennis player who was going to receive a hard ball in my chest. Eventually I could hear what he was saying. John .: So what? Lars .: Nothing! I'm completely empty. Totally peaceful. I tried to recall my problem but nothing came up. It was gone! As if it had never existed. Why do I tell this story? The spiritual is a being, a consciousness in the same way that one has a consciousness when driving a car. A car-consciousness. It can be hard to understand. Difficult because it completely evades normal logic. Logic cannot be used for spirituality. Logic is a tool used by scientists to make sure something can be proven. Most often, the understanding comes with time. When ready. So it is with emotions. How will I ever be able to prove my experience from the forest? I can not. Then your experience does not exist ... someone will say. Yes it does ... I would say. What people will believe is entirely up to them. Thats the freedom we must give each other. Freedom to experience based on each our interpretation and experience. Then the individual is set free to develop naturally. Had a lucid run in the forest Lars Echardt
